I work for a garage so we have all sorts of equipment for removal really depends on the car. However due to this filters horrific location we had all the tools out.

Mercedes Sprinter RV that got chewed on by mice or rats while it was parked during the winter. Engine plus main (going all the way from the front to the rear bumper) harness along with the firewall insulation have been replaced by me so far but they didn’t stop at that point, the RV harness also has lots of damaged wiring...

Insurance will pay for it but sent out two adjusters to have a look at it as it just barely wasn’t totalled.

Popped the hood, and these guys slumped right out from above the fire blanket. They seem friendly enough, whole lot of ‘not my fucking job’ going on though.

2001 town & country fuel injector harness, no heat shield, just some shitty loom

So the story I heard was this guy dumped a load of cash into this low milage truck, getting it set for safety inspection, but didn’t look at the frame very closely. Finally noticed the rot, got pissed, scrapped it where I work.

...the gentleman brought it in saying he just bought it, and it had been sitting for a bit, and he needs everything checked out because the front end feels loose...

The amount of work this thing needs is staggering and cost of repairs EASILY mounts to more than it’s worth by double. They are paying me for my time of looking at it and gonna scrap it.

I asked him if the shop was on the hook he said ‘Hell no that’s enter at your own risk!’. Said the driver was pissed but he told him to ‘shut up’ because it was his fault. I was a little blown away how he reacted to the customer but I wasn’t there maybe it really was 110% the drivers fault lol.

...we were more the. Willing to fix it for it him. But i think with the age of it, all the other work i noticed it needed and the daughters being uncomfortable to drive it(which i think is the biggest factor, i know it would be for me). He decided its not worth it any more. And figured it would be better in the hands of mechanic who can fix it then to just scrap it
